Running up to the restaurant, he felt his chest boiling, his breathing became heavy and intermittent. Nervously looking around, he thought that he probably looked now like a lost tourist, exhausted from the heat. He decided that he needed to catch his breath before going inside.
And then his gaze fell on a small door leading to the summer terrace, where someone was smoking. Suddenly it dawned on him, he remembered the words of the gypsy woman that he heard half an hour ago, about the side entrance to the house. Maybe this was that very prediction? Not wanting to risk it, Michael headed to this side entrance, deciding to trust the words of the mysterious gypsy woman after all.
He carefully went inside, and suddenly footsteps were heard. The guy immediately found shelter behind a large plant so that no one would notice his presence. He tried to breathe slowly and inconspicuously.
And then a couple of middle-aged people passed by and stopped next to him to smoke. Michael realized with relief that he hadn’t been noticed, and gradually began to feel more confident. That summer day, the air conditioner was working in the room, creating a pleasant coolness, which Michael did not want to give up.
When the couple entered the room, they also did not want to go outside. They started a conversation, completely unaware that behind the palm tree, next to which they stopped, Michael was hiding at that moment. The guy was uncomfortable with the behavior of this couple.
They were too noisy and excitedly gesticulating. He didn’t like conflicts and usually avoided scandalous situations. He understood that this couple did not know about his presence, but the cigarette smoke they exhaled into the air seriously interfered with his breathing.
Michael felt uncomfortable standing hidden behind the palm tree, but his embarrassment intensified when the conversation became more intimate and personal. Now the young man was already awkward to leave his shelter. He was seriously afraid that the couple would think that he was eavesdropping on their conversation.
So unwittingly Michael became a witness to their conversation. By the end of the conversation, he had a sense of discomfort and a desire to leave this place. But he continued to stand still, not knowing how best to act in this awkward situation.
The woman with a cold gaze and her partner, a man with a suspicious appearance, were discussing their insidious plans. “The main thing is that she doesn’t blab,” the woman said with some concern. Her words hung in the air like an ominous warning.
