In today’s world, where children increasingly face aggression, psychological pressure, and social challenges, traditional educational tools no longer fully meet the needs of their emotional development. The “Force of Unity” program, developed by Ukrainian coach and educator Yuriy Didenko in cooperation with Vadym Rohach, President of the National Sambo Federation of Ukraine, emerged as an innovative response to these modern challenges.

This groundbreaking methodology integrates athletic training with modern approaches in child psychology, creating a unique educational model through SAMBO—one that focuses on developing psychological maturity, building healthy self-esteem, and preventing bullying.
Uniqueness and Core Mission of the Program
“Force of Unity” is the first comprehensive model in Ukraine that systematically combines:
- SAMBO and safe self-defense techniques;
- elements of sports psychology;
- development of children’s emotional intelligence;
- leadership and teamwork skills;
- scientifically grounded anti-bullying mechanisms.
The goal of the program is to raise children who are not only physically confident but also emotionally resilient, socially engaged, and trained to respond to conflicts constructively—without resorting to aggression.
Psychological Component and Anti-Bullying Model
Unlike traditional sports sections, the program includes a specialized psychological development block that features:
- role-playing and modeling of real social conflict situations;
- interactive games to foster empathy and responsibility;
- exercises in emotional regulation and stress resilience;
- work with fears, anxiety, and reactions to provocation;
- practical tools to counter bullying and cyberbullying;
- cultivation of mutual support and team spirit.
Children learn not only how to protect themselves but also how to promote a non-violent environment, support their peers, and prevent aggressive behaviors before they escalate.
Author’s Innovation and National Recognition
Yuriy Didenko created Ukraine’s first integrated “sports + psychology + social adaptation” model aimed at preventing bullying through SAMBO.
The program’s implementation in cooperation with the National Sambo Federation of Ukraine confirms its high professional standards and national recognition.
Experts in child psychology, physical education, and social development have highlighted the program’s significant contribution to building:
- self-regulation,
- stable self-esteem,
- discipline,
- readiness for social challenges.
Children who train under the “Force of Unity” methodology demonstrate higher levels of social integration and more responsible behavior in school environments.
Social Significance and Future Prospects
The program has strong potential for international expansion and can be adapted for educational institutions in the United States and Europe as an effective tool for:
- bullying prevention;
- integration of migrant children;
- physical and psychological youth development;
- promotion of non-violent behavioral culture.
“Force of Unity” proves that SAMBO can be much more than a martial art—it can be a bridge to a harmonious, safe, and cohesive society, where physical strength is combined with high moral and psychological values.
