17 Nannies Quit After Meeting This Billionaire’s “Demon” Triplets! Watch What the 18th Did to Stop Them in Their Tracks…

Bobby, the youngest and smallest of the three, perked up instantly. “What kind of stories?”

“All kinds. Stories about brave knights, magical animals, and kids who go on wild, amazing adventures.”

The younger two were clearly hooked, but Tommy wasn’t about to lower his guard. He tightened his jaw. “We don’t want friends,” he stated firmly, his little voice trembling just a fraction. “Friends leave.”

Belinda’s heart physically ached at the profound, guarded pain in the child’s eyes. “You know what, Tommy? You’re right. Sometimes friends do leave. Sometimes the people we love the absolute most leave us, even when they desperately don’t want to.”

The kitchen fell entirely silent. The boys stared at her, their defenses faltering as heavy tears began to well in their matching blue eyes.

“But you know what I eventually learned?” Belinda continued, her voice soft and steady. “Just because someone leaves doesn’t mean they didn’t love you with all their heart. And it certainly doesn’t mean that everyone else who comes into your life will leave too.”

“Our mama left,” Bobby whispered, a single tear cutting a clean track through the sticky syrup on his cheek.

“I know, sweetheart. And I bet that hurts so much that sometimes you feel like your chest is just going to break wide open.”

All three boys nodded slowly, the fight draining out of them as the tears finally flowed.

“Can I tell you a secret?” Belinda asked softly. They nodded again, inching closer. “I lost my Mama and my Daddy when I was just a little bit older than you are right now. And for a really long time, I was so angry and so incredibly scared that I tried to push everyone away. I thought if I was just mean enough to people, they would get mad and leave before I had the chance to get attached to them.”

The boys stared at her, utterly mesmerized. “Did it work?” Tommy asked, his voice barely a whisper.

“For a while, it did. But I ended up being so terribly lonely, and I missed out on knowing some really wonderful people just because I was too scared to let them care about me.” Belinda slowly reached into her paper bag and pulled out a stack of large, homemade cookies. “These are chocolate chip. They were my Mama’s absolute favorite in the world. I always make them when I miss her.”

She placed the bag gently in the center of the table. “You don’t have to eat them if you aren’t ready. And you don’t even have to like me if you don’t want to. But I am going to be right here every single day, whether you are being good or bad, whether you are happy or angry. Because that is what people who care about you do. They stick around.”

The grand kitchen was silent, save for the soft, heartbreaking sounds of the boys sniffling. Then, slowly, Bobby took a tentative step toward the table.

“Can I… can I try a cookie?” he asked shyly.

“Of course you can, sweetheart.”

Bobby took a small bite, and his teary eyes widened. “It’s really good.”

Danny and Tommy looked at each other, their silent twin communication passing between them, before they too approached the table. As the three brothers sat eating cookies and finally letting their guard down around Belinda, John watched from the shadows of the hallway in sheer amazement. In twenty minutes, this quiet, unassuming woman had accomplished what seventeen highly paid professionals couldn’t manage in half a year. She had reached the hearts of his sons.

But John had absolutely no idea that their fragile, peaceful morning was about to be violently shattered by news that threatened to tear this delicate new beginning apart.

John’s phone vibrated violently against his thigh just as the boys were finishing their breakfast. His face drained of color when he glanced at the caller ID. It was Marcus, his lead corporate attorney, and Marcus only called at eight in the morning when the sky was actively falling.

“John, we have a massive problem,” Marcus announced, skipping any pleasantries. “Channel 7 News is running a feature story tonight about your family. Someone on your former staff leaked private information about the nanny turnover, and they are painting you as a negligent billionaire who can’t even control his own children.”
